Fire-resistant Glass
Fires can start anywhere, and it’s important that fires, in the event they cannot be extinguished by traditional means, should be contained for as long as possible. Fire-resistant glass is designed to contain flames and inflammable gases, but not designed to prevent heat transfer.

Fire-insulating glass is also available that does the same thing, but also prevents heat transfer to the other side. Our wired glass usually comes with either a 30 or 60 minute fire-resistance rating, but we are able to source from all major glass suppliers if a longer duration is required.

If requested, we can also provide details on full glazing installation solutions to fully maximize the benefits of your new glass. If the glass is to be installed in doors, side panels, or low-height windows, our wired glass conforms to BS 6206 Class C for safety glass where necessary.

Express Selsdon glaziers replace glass for a variety of reasons. we provide an emergency response service for broken glass repairs where we would board the windows for your security and then replace the glass usually within 48 hours in and around the Selsdon area.

Glass in Selsdon commercial properties that should be but doesnt meet safety requirements can be replaced with safety glass. All enquiries are welcome with free estimates and quotes by phoning our Selsdon team.

Glass for use in Selsdon domestic properties typically comes in two varieties; single or double-glazed, with a choice of either float/annealed or toughened glass. Single-glazed windows with float glass can normally be fitted on the same day. Our Selsdon glaziers are able to replace glass from either the outside or the inside of properties, if the framework allows it. If required, we can source scaffolding and/or lifting vehicles for high glass installations.
